You are chosen for a specific purpose.
Heavenly Father has created a path for each of His children and demands the best from us to achieve His purpose. His children are a reflection of Himself, and He wants to thrive within us. His sons are princes among men and his daughters are princesses among women. His desire is for us to understand the importance of our temples (body, mind, and soul) and care for them. He desires for us to live lives that reflect service and gratitude. He desires our best, always striving to reflect His love and grace for each of us.
He also understands each of us better than we understand ourselves.
We are not perfect, but we are chosen. Yahweh loves us regardless of our imperfections, and His children recognize and accept the love and grace He offers. We are far from perfect, but perfected in His eyes through the blood of Christ – our Savior.
We must refuse to believe the lies the enemy tells – that we are not good enough, devout enough, faithful enough. We believe and know that Yahweh chose us and come as we are, to submit to Him our imperfections. It is His strength and perfection that strengthens us and fills in the gaps. His strength within us is enough to propel us through His plans for us.
Let’s reflect……
It can be difficult to believe you are chosen, favored, and blessed. Especially when your world seems chaotic, your relationships rushed, your home life unorganized, your mind is foggy, or your energy is non-existent. You may have allowed yourself to slip away and go into a place of loneliness and isolation. In your weakened state, the enemy shows you tales of inadequacy and inferiority. You compare yourself to others and find yourself lacking. You look at the outside possession and achievements of others and envy their ability to conquer it all. You may even become envious of known unbelievers – not understanding why the “ungodly” are reaping amazing benefits while you – a follower of God’s word – continue to struggle.
How do you move forward from here?
First, believe that you are chosen for a purpose. Believe that our Heavenly Father does not seek perfection, but he seeks an honest and prayerful heart.
Understand that your Heavenly Father is waiting for you.
- Remember who you are – His chosen child.
- Bring your hurt, pain, anger, lack of understanding, envy, despair, depression – whatever you are feeling – to Him. Speak frankly with Him and to Him as David did. Many of the Psalms focus on David’s despair, hurt, and anger – regardless of whether his feelings were the results of his own action or the actions of his enemies. He consistently poured his heart out to God in despair
- In all instances, identify your support group, and ask them for prayer. These may or may not include people you know. Below are 2 prayer lines that are open 24 hours a day. You can call as often as you like or click the links to submit a prayer request.

- Remember God’s promises and truths:
- He is with you: Deuteronomy 31:8 assures us, “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
- He strengthens you: Philippians 4:13 declares, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
- He is our hope and our healer: Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
- He can handle our burdens: 1 Peter 5:7 instructs us, “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”
- Be anxious for nothing, but earnestly prayerful and grateful about everything. (Phil 4:6-7). This means pray continuously, humbly, non-stopping. Many times when we experience despair, we pray once and leave it up to God to work it out. However, our earnest and continuous prayer shows God our hearts and where our focus is. Don’t stop praying and don’t stop thanking Him for what is now and what is coming.
He does not leave us, He is always there with you. He waits for you to comprehend His power and understand it’s a resource for you. He waits for you to understand that He is moving your mountains, defeating your enemies, creating a path, and making ways designed JUST for you. You can’t see it because you are steeped in hurt and despair. Perhaps you don’t really trust Him, so you give up and allow the enemy to make your pain larger than God’s healing.
Listen to Yahweh. Believe in Yahweh. You were chosen by Yahweh. Allow him to lead you.
Get up, wash your face, and take the first step as a chosen child of the Most High.
Remember, you are not alone in this battle. God’s love and support are always available to you. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, reach out to a trusted friend, pastor, or mental health professional.
Our prayer for you… Dear Heavenly Father. Please wrap your arms around your chosen child. Show them your love and let them feel your attention. You knew they would be here at this moment, reading this prayer, seeking your face. They feel alone and unworthy, but they are chosen to be here at this time, in this place because You chose them to be here. Confirm Your presence for them Heavenly Father. Show them the little and large signs of how loved they are. Guide them through this time of hurt and pain. Show them who they are in You – one of your chosen ones. Thank you for your love, grace, and the gift of life through Christ. Amen
